Composing Movement I found this video interesting because I hadn't really thought about the relation to the movement in the foreground of films in relation to the background, nor had I considered using movement to contrast a component of a scene that stays static (such as someone standing still but the rain falling behind them or the wind blowing profusely). It gives me something to think about both in terms of how I orient the movement in my figure ground, in addition to how I can think about the motion of the camera as the narrator points out throughout the video as things zoom in and then zoom out to wide shots from closeups and vice versa Editing Space & Time It was nice to see Paprika be touched on significantly in this video as I am a huge fan of the film and all of the other works by that director. I benefitted from seeing different techniques used in both animation and film as ways to segue from one scene to another smoothly without the cuts made being super obvious.

Censorship

My feelings about censorship have remained the same since doing this project as they've always been, that I feel it's no ones right to censor anything if they do not want to be censored themselves. However, I do feel that there is a distinct difference between art and the open dialogue created with artistic messages, versus leaving hateful speech in public view or leaving imagery/text that is inflammatory in nature. While some argue that hate speech is still speech nonetheless, they are often times the ones who are least affected by the presence of hateful speech, whether it's uttered out loud or left on a wall for the public to absorb. At the end of the day though, my opinion is only mine and people will continue to selectively censor/avoid censoring anything that they take issue/find pleasure with. Street artists will continue to make street art and there will always be people that take issue with it, feeling that it encroaches on our precious public space. Despite this m
